Who makes Corvex
Corvex is a one-person iOS app. No growth team, no ad network, no investor asking for another notification. This page exists so you know who wrote the words on this site and how far to trust them.

Chris Richards, founder
I built Corvex because every calorie tracker I tried felt like data entry for someone else's benefit — a barcode scanner wrapped in banner ads, upsells and streak guilt. I wanted the opposite: log the meal in five seconds, see the weight trend honestly, close the app.
I am a software engineer, not a dietitian, doctor or nutrition scientist. I have no clinical qualification and I am not going to pretend otherwise on a site that gives calorie advice. What I can offer is that the arithmetic is right, the sources are named, and nothing on this site is written to sell you a supplement.
Reach me at chris@corvexhealth.com — I answer my own email.
How this content is written and sourced
The guides, glossary and calculators here cover nutrition and body weight, which means getting them wrong has real consequences. The rules I hold this content to:
- Formulas are named and cited. The calculators use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for resting energy expenditure, and the page tells you so, with a link to the 1990 paper it comes from.
- Claims about behaviour cite research, not vibes. Where a page says daily weighing or food logging helps, it links to the systematic review behind that claim.
- Estimates are labelled as estimates. Every equation for energy expenditure has an error range on an individual. Pages that produce a number also say how far off it can be.
- No medical claims. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or prevents anything. Corvex is a logging tool.
- Corrections are welcome. If something here is wrong, email support@corvexhealth.com and I will fix it and change the updated date.
What this site is not
This is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional who can see your bloodwork and your history. Calorie targets from any calculator — mine included — are population averages applied to an individual. If you are pregnant, managing a health condition, taking medication that affects appetite or metabolism, or have any history of disordered eating, talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before acting on a number from this site.
How Corvex makes money
From an optional subscription in the iOS app. Not from ads, not from selling your food logs or weigh-ins, and not from affiliate links — the only outbound links on this site are the App Store and the research sources, and no one pays to appear here. The comparison pages name competitors honestly, including the things they do better.
