Yazio alternative

Yazio is a calorie counter that grew a kitchen around it: recipes, fasting, AI. Corvex stayed a log. Which one you want depends on whether those extra rooms keep you logging or keep you browsing.

Updated 2026-08-16By Chris RichardsAll comparisons

Corvex wins

  • No ads on any tier
  • A short path from open to logged meal
  • Weight as a trend, not a buried tab
  • Progress stickers instead of an in-app lifestyle feed

Yazio wins

  • Recipes and meal ideas inside the same app
  • Fasting tracking alongside calories
  • Stronger presence in German-speaking and EU markets
  • Android as well as iOS

Verdict

Keep Yazio if recipes, fasting timers, and a full lifestyle suite are why you open the app. Choose Corvex if you want calories, macros, and weight without the extra rooms.

Best for: People who want a quiet daily tracker and will get recipes somewhere else.

The Corvex log-food sheet listing four options: AI lookup to describe what you ate, scan barcode for a packaged product, recents to log something again, and manual entry for macros.
Four ways to log a meal. Barcode scanning and manual entry are free on every tier.

What Yazio is on the store page

The US App Store listing for AI Calorie Tracker by Yazio (checked 16 August 2026) describes a calorie counter with barcode scanning, fasting, recipes, and Pro via in-app purchase. That is a suite, not a single job. It is a legitimate product shape — Lifesum and others live there too.

This page will not invent a US dollar price. In-app purchases vary by region, promotion, and which Pro pack you see. Open your own store listing. Anything else is a guess dressed as journalism.

Where Yazio is the better app

If you actually cook from in-app recipes, a standalone tracker is a downgrade. If fasting windows are part of how you eat, a timer in the same place as the log is convenient. If you are on Android, Corvex is not in the race.

Yazio also has years of recognition in Europe. Switching costs are not only data — they are muscle memory and a language you already trust. A comparison page that pretends that is zero is selling, not informing.

Where the suite becomes the problem

Every extra mode is a reason the home screen stops answering “how is today going” in one glance. Fasting rings, recipe carousels, and plan upsells compete with the log. That is fine if you use them. It is how a calorie tracker starts to feel like a magazine if you do not.

Corvex’s bet is the unglamorous one: most people eat the same forty foods, and the bottleneck is whether they still open the app. AI lookup, barcode, recents, macros remaining, weight trend, no ads. Recipes live in a browser. Fasting, if you do it, can be a clock. The minimalist tracker page is the category version of this argument.

Ads, Pro, and the free line

Treat the free tier as a product, not a demo. Can you log a normal day with barcode and recents without paying? Are there ads on the screen you open at lunch? Does history collapse after a week? Answer those in the app, not on a landing page.

Corvex keeps barcode, recents, AI lookup, the daily card, and weight with a trend on the free tier, with no ads on any plan. Premium is longer history, charts, and the full sticker library. If Yazio’s Pro line sits across the actions you do every meal, you are not comparing trackers — you are comparing a trial to a tool.

Switching

No Yazio import in Corvex v1. Export what you can, keep the file, rebuild staples. Cancel Pro from the store subscriptions screen. Run both for a fortnight if the recipe library is the thing you might miss — double-logging is annoying and it is the only honest test.

FAQ

Is Yazio free?

There is a free app with Pro sold as in-app purchase. What the free tier still includes changes, and prices are not the same in every store. Check the listing on your phone.

Does Corvex have recipes or a fasting timer?

No. Calories, macros, fibre, weight, and optional progress stickers. If recipes or fasting are why you open Yazio, stay there — or use a recipe site and a timer next to Corvex.

Is Corvex a good Yazio alternative on Android?

No. Corvex is iOS-only. Yazio remains the practical choice on Android.

Does Corvex work in Europe?

Yes, as an iPhone app. It is not a localised German product the way Yazio is. Food database coverage will feel thinner on some packaged European items. That is a real reason to stay.
